Having a great interest in ancient and medieval history, I have a great fascination for Mediterranean lands. And ever since my first journey to Rome, I have found great inspiration in the many facets of Italian culture and landscapes. After numerous trips to the country, and a seven-months-stay in Florence, it has become a recurring theme in my paintings.
